Special Note: This trip is planned as ‘basic’, with shared rooms, bathrooms and beds on occasion to keep costs down. Contact Maureen for clarification.

There will be a trip planning meeting for registered participants approximately two weeks before trip departure-date to be determined.

Ride Description:
At long last, after a few years hiatus, EBTC is returning to the Gulf Islands – those beautiful Canadian islands which lie between Vancouver and Vancouver Island, BC. This is a trip that the Club did for many years from the 80’s through to the early 2000’s, and we are excited to be able to offer it again.

This cycling trip starts with a couple of nights on Pender Island. From there, we move to Mayne Island for 3 nights and hope to do a couple of day trips from there to Galiano and possibly Saturna Island. We then move on to Saltspring Island for a further 3 nights. Mayne Island is known as one of the flattest of the islands, but it is one we haven’t explored for a few years, so we’ll have to rediscover what it is really like!! Galiano and Saturna are uncharted territory for us - so we’ll embark on the voyage of discovery together. Pender has lots of little coves and side roads good for mountain bikes. The main (paved) road runs through the lengths of North and South Pender Islands and is a pleasant ride - with a bakery stop (if it is still there!) in between the two islands.We always save the best for last, of course, and Saltspring - although it is the hilliest of the islands - also has lots of roads and parks and coves to explore. 

Accommodations:
Shared accommodations varies depending on our location. We will be lodged in condos and resorts where rooms include one king size bed while others are bigger and include one king/queen bed with singles or pull outs. Please communicate with me for more information on how we will share these accommodations. 

Riding:
This is a fully van supported condo/resort trip. Cycling distances vary between 40-60k with some elevation, after all we are in BC.

Fees Include:

• Meals and clean-up will be shared, but there may be a couple of opportunities for meals out at participant cost.
• Accommodations and ferries.
• Fully supported van that will carry your luggage.

  

Fees do not include:

• Individuals will need to make their way to the trip start at the Victoria Airport on April 15th.  (Contact Maureen for suggested flight arrival times).
• Ferry fee to Crofton should we decide to do a day trip.

• If cancelling prior to payment deadline, deposit is forfeited if no replacement is found.
• If cancelling after the payment deadline, full fee is forfeited if no replacement is found.
